ABOUT US

DIGITAL MAILING SERVICES

We prefer your names and addresses in a digital format instead of on plain paper or peel off labels. We will process your file (on diskette, by e-mail or copied into our outsiders folder), do address correction and print the "label" directly on your mail piece with the POSTNET barcode This could save you $50 - $90 per thousand for qualifying pieces (sent standard mail). If you have any questions, please call us at 803-777-2244 or e-mail us at standardmail@printing.sc.edu and we will be happy to help you plan your mailing.

NOTE:  All Student mail must be submitted in P.O. Box order.

For information on file specifications, contact Sammy Carter at 803-777-2244 or via e-mail at sam@printing.sc.edu

Standard Mail processing is a cooperative venture between the University's Standard Mail Department and the U.S. Postal Service. Standard Mail has two ways of charging postage: the indicia (permit box), which is printed in the upper right hand corner on the piece, or metering, which means using a meter machine to print the postage on each piece.

Standard Mail has two different rate structures:

Non-Profit Rate must follow all rules to qualify.

  1. Must have University of South Carolina on top line in return address
  2. Must contain University business only
  3. No sponsors or advertising of any kind
  4. No joint ventures with outside companies
The indicia must contain all information shown on sample below!
